With our partners, Cionic and Accenture, fuseproject was selected as one of the two winning designs to continue in manufacturing and, eventually, go through validation testing and FDA approval.

Intuitive user experience

VOX was designed with affordance to leverage existing user behaviors, while enabling a customizable UI tailored to each hospital’s unique work flow.

Navigation

We used a simple rotary dial for the primary menu navigation. To make a selection, a user can tap on the rotary dial, which then prompts action items. There are two physical buttons to trigger a critical function oxygen boost and silence alarms.

Simple alert states

Alerts are highly important for hospitals and need to be easily scannable for respiratory therapists and nurses to take quick actions. The alerts use three different colors to communicate the priorities of the alerts. When an alert is triggered, the screen highlights the patient’s output and pairs it with messaging at the top of the screen. This allows for quick scanning and comprehension.

The CoVent-19 Challenge has partnered with the African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM) which employs over 2,000 emergency medicine clinicians across 26 countries in Africa. In collaboration with AFEM and following regional regulatory approval guidelines, a pilot program will be launched in Nigeria.

We are facing a difficult time. People have to keep distant from their loved ones and face the fear of unknown diseases every day. I felt extremely grateful to use my skills to be part of this meaningful project that could help treat patients. Lastly, I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are making it possible for our society and our health care system to fight this disease.
